It was better than I expected from him. While I do not know how sincere he is in his words, or whether he was forced to make the apology, he left himself no wiggle room with the “I’m sorry if my words offended you” or “That wasn’t me” or “She drove me to do something stupid.”
As he is normally one of the more obnoxious talking heads, I will note his words and tone, and hope that he takes his own advice.
