Article makes it seem like cops fired after first takeoff. It was after the second.

Neither side handled this well.

Right - she could have just taken her ticket. Initially the cop was polite and appropriate.

And the first cop could have been less angry and reactive the second time too. When you deal with people who are likely to be upset, as I do in the hospital where I work, one hopes you can avoid taking it personally and rise above your feelings of pride or control or whatever.

At least she managed to avoid the enema process - maybe something in the car labeled as drug paraphernalia really did worry her about that being a possibility.

Just because the mother is an idiot and put her children in danger doesn’t excuse a cop firing at the children. The cop’s life wasn’t in danger.

Tell me, if it weren’t a government employee firing at the van full of kids, would you be making the “neither side” argument?
