Had a family come into our office this past week. They were being dropped from their insurance and trying to get their flu shots in under the wire.
They admitted they were MORONIC enough to vote for Obama, and now they’re seriously upset that all this is happening.
They’re also lamenting that Fairfax County schools system is some 30 million dollars in debt. Hmmmm, wonder why ....if you allow Democrats to control and run your county, as well as import enough illegals into your county to break the system, you do tend to go broke.
I don’t We have some really seriously stupid and easily led people on our hands in this country. They are just going to have to suffer, and suffer BAD to get it through their heads. This is JUST the beginning.
When you look at all the various incompetent authorities, who have wasted tax revenue...the only consequence in my mind is to start sending them off to some minor-league prison deal in west Texas. If you botched up your town’s budget...whether by accident or on purpose....you got to go and do time.
Gaze over at Birmingham and the waste-water treatment plant....which is big enough for a town three times the size of Birmingham. The county will never be able to repay the loan, and the city is mostly bankrupt. The guys who signed up for the mess? Walking free....no punishment.
We need to make people who run for city or county councils....fear to the extreme the possibility of screwing up.
About ten years ago out in Arizona...some VFW group got all peppey and convinced the city council to put up a eternal flame to honor GI’s. No one on the city council asked any questions. So this brick deal was put up...very artistic...big ceremony, and the flame was set.
Months passed. Around fifteen months later, the city clerk gets the big natural gas bill for the town, and it’s around thirty percent higher than expected. Doesn’t make sense. Questions are raised.
They come to note this one new connection from fifteen months prior. It’s the “flame” for the VFW guys. It’s fed off a city connection. It’s a fair chunk of money...roughly $25,000. The city can carve off library funds, park funds, and take away from various programs to cover the current bill, but they just want agree to permanently host this “flame”.
Talks come up, and the VFW is confused and upset. Naturally, they want the city to pay....because the VFW ain’t got the $25,000 a year. Reality sets in. From what I last understood on the deal....the flame is lit on special weekends....like the 4th or Memorial Day or Veteran’s day...strictly for twelve hours, then turned off. All across the US...you’ve got these eternal “flames” (JFK has one), and the bill gets passed to tax payers.
