President Barack Obama will be in attendance Sunday evening when Maryland takes on Oregon State at Comcast Center in College Park, White House press secretary Jay Carney announced at a briefing with the media on Friday afternoon.
Obama, publicly acknowledged as an avid fan of basketball, is the brother-in-law of Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson.

Robinson has coached at Oregon State since 2008 and is the brother of First Lady Michelle Obama. During Robinson’s time with the Beavers, he has amassed a record of 77-88 and has yet to make an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

.... Handlers obviously want to change the optics and perception about the Boy Blunder to the public by making him seem more human and folksy to the electorate out there. You know ..... kinda like making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear ...... the press will lap this stuff up like a dog returning to his own vomit. (There ..... I think I have used up my quota of idioms for one day)
He has time form Maryland vs. Oregon State, but won’t attend the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address in Gettysburg ???

Great. This will probably raise his approval ratings by 20% among LIVs. This would put him at about 115%.
It would be fun to see a 5-minute standing “boo-vation” for him. Make him cry.

The more time he goes to games, plays golf, Martha’s Vineyard etc, the less time to screw us up.
