Could be true. It’s always been suspected that Stevens was supposed to be kidnapped and exchanged for the blind sheik. He was kidnapped at any rate. Why they gave him up is a mystery.

My guess was that after Woods and Doherty took out 60 of the terrorists Ansar al Sharia figured they had been double crossed by zero. So they did what they do best. Kill infidels and torture homos. The plan all along was to swap Stevens for the blind POS.
