There was one problem with it that Dems cited over and over and that GOP never addressed seriously that left them vulnerable.

That uninsured are treated largely for free at hospitals expense due to a Reagan era federal mandate. In Maryland we pay a special state tax for that, but otherwise other patients do in their bills.

It left GOP responding with :”They do have health care, its an emergency room” as if that is policy to be proud of.

Just my gripe.

This is purely rhetorical but I’d like to start talking about restoring Americans’ health care system.

Most FReepers, I think, would say the old system was heading over a cliff. Obamacare sped up the bus and is an encouraging thing to those of us lacking confidence in medical insurance and provider agreements as they were. Encouraging, because it's greater motivation to drive carefully and to stay healthy in every way we can as long as we can. Cannot escape what every other human, except one or two, have had to experience.
