Here in Indy, the previous D. mayor gave the Irsays the deal of a lifetime. A “free” $725m stadium AND the team gets all the revenue from the non-football events. Slight consolation was that got him unelected, but the deal held.

There are colleges that would envy a stadium like this.

Yep. A little country with NO TAXES, all funded by me, the Guardian with veto power. The National Charter had strict limits on the power of the government. It’s a small country so there were only 9 seats, a majority formed a cabinet of 5. lol.
No embassies from other countries, none in other countries, not a member of any international organization.
......
Actually this was a follow-up dream, a DREAM SEQUEL... heh

Katy, Texas has one like that too. Katy is not exactly a metropolis.

One of the reasons I think Texas would be perfect for the Olympics, we’ve already got all the stadiums they need.

lol, so true!
All the baseball, soccer, football, basketball and such facilities in the DFW area could be used.
I guess they aren’t close together and pretty enough though

You’ve got SMU, TCU, UNT, even Baylor available for events. FC Dallas Park, JerryWorld, the AAC, Cotton Bowl, Ballpark in Arlington. Tons of lakes for the sailing and rowing events. The only problem is the heat.

Just make the summer olympics happen in October/NOV or in the Spring and all will be good.

My daughter had a discussion with a woman who had a similar plan. Her idea was that the US has enough farm land to grow enough food to feed all the people who live here for free and enough other land to provide everyone a place to live for free. My daughter asked her if she was getting free food and housing, why on earth would she ever work? The woman didn’t get it.
