I dont get it. Sebelius claims that the marketplace is working. What is there to talk about?
Actually, I can think of two items on the agenda.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday will convene a special meeting of the Senate Democratic caucus and senior White Officials to discuss the troubled rollout of ObamaCare
The Senate leader said President Obama called him Tuesday evening to discuss healthcare and other issues.
Several Democrats have signed onto a proposal sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) that would force insurance companies to let people keep their health plans if they like them.
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) said he would have a better idea of what proposals Democrats will push to improve the new law after the Thursday meeting.
Agenda item one: Are they really going to cover their asses politically by passing Mary Landrieus bill knowing that itll increase the damage to ObamaCare? If you support the law, as every Democrat does, the last thing you should want to do in the wake of the website meltdown is further discourage healthy people from signing up on the exch Agenda item two: How long before the Healthcare.gov Chernobyl is finally contained? Agenda item two: How long before the Healthcare.gov Chernobyl is finally contained? Administration sources keep reassuring the media that November 30th is still the target date, but Sebelius told people listening to todays HHS conference call that they might want to consider enrolling directly on individual insurance companies websites instead. (Youd lose your subsidy if you do that, but something like 41 percent of people whose plans have been dropped arent eligible for subsidies anyway.) Jim Moran went so far today as to say,

Republicans warned for years that Obamacare would result in millions losing the coverage they now have. The Democrats accused Republicans of lying and scaremongering. I’m waiting for the Dems to admit they were wrong and the GOP was right and apologize to the GOP.
> Several Democrats have signed onto a proposal sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) that would force insurance companies to let people keep their health plans if they like them.
The insurance companies are still be going to be charging much higher rates than they did before because of all the administrative costs involved in getting ready for 0’care. All this means is that Obamacare still caused the price of medical care everywhere to skyrocket because they don’t back them down once they go up.
It’s gonna take a trainload of lipstick for that pig.........
I’m sure there’s a few folks who’d like to have the coordinates of that meeting...
Another one of sneaky Grinch Harry’s smokey back room arm-twisting deals he’s so fond of?
I am laughing as this arrived here from the website Hotair and reports: “Several Democrats have signed onto a proposal sponsored by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) that would force insurance companies to let people keep their health plans if they like them.”
Now that’s a ton of “hotair”, as the issue is NOT insurance companies willy-nilly cancelling plans people are on that they like, but cancelling the plans as they were - which the people liked - in order to “fix” them to meet the requirements the plans must have under Obamacare.
If Landrieu wanted to really “fix” this she would propose repealling Obamacare and barring that she would propose repealling any provision that defines what is and is not a legally acceptable health insurance plan under Obamacare, so that individuals and employers can really pick exactly, AND ONLY, a plan THEY actually want; one that meets their own combination of level of insurance coverage and affordable financial cost, not some arbitrary dicatat from Washington.
salivating
We don’t believe that proposed legislation that actually causes more problems than it fixes are the right way to go, Carney said.
The meeting is about how to snooker the House again. If the House approves the Upton bill, Reid can then substitute the Landrieu language. He would then send it back to the House and dare the Republicans NOT to vote for it.
Scrap it and start over..
I think the ACA limits how much the ins. co. can charge for admin. costs. So, this would help the Dems crash the “free market” system faster.
Maybe they could call in McCain and Graham to help out!
CORRECT
“send it back to the House and dare the Republicans NOT to vote for it.”
Makes sense, but that requires Reid and O to totally abandon their 100% stone-walling that they held to re the shut down, therefore cutting off their own noses. The Republicans were doing them a favor after all, this mess would never have happened, had Reid and O just negotiated with the duly elected House of OUR Representatives. So what gives??
1. Would Reid allow a vote? just saying, whether or not O would veto it.
2. Would O veto it?? as he “promised” he would?
3. Would Reid throw under the bus? can’t since O could still veto the thing.
Damn, I hope you don’t try to hold your breath waiting.
That’s something you will never see.
But tell me why is this a meeting of Democrats? Isn’t this a problem for all parties? Didn’t Obama say he wanted to work with both parties? Was that another lie?
"If you DARE stray off the Reservation - I'm putting you on Double-Secret Probation ..."
He does have an incredibly hot niece.
Fred Upton is trying to save the demonic-rats!
He’s worse than a DOPE!
I would pay good money to hear whet goes on in there.
