The fight over how to define the new health law’s success is coming down to one question: Who counts as an Obamacare enrollee?
Health insurance plans only count subscribers as enrolled in a health plan once they’ve submited a payment. That is when the carrier sends out a member card and begins paying doctor bills.
When the Obama administration releases health law enrollment figures later this week, though, it will use a more expansive definition. It will count people who have purchased a plan as well as those who have a plan sitting in their online shopping cart but have not yet paid.

I would guess that anyone who walked through a room where someone was trying to get onto the busted Obamacare website would count as an enrollee, eh?

Whatever the definition, the reality is that if the insurance companies don’t get the needed healthy payers, premiums will be raised and they will enter a death spiral. You can only spin the facts so far. Lying about the number of paying customers won’t change reality.

Exactly. I think they’re hoping to keep up the lie past the 2014 elections. this is all about power.
Putting in my bet early. They’re gonna say they have about a million “pending” enrollees, a million new “formerly uninsured” Medicaid recipients, and that the 4.9M who lost their coverage will be able to get coverage at a great price as soon as “we get that website up in two weeks”.
Overall, they met their goal ahead of schedule.
Oh my goodness, “...when first we practice to deceive....”. The Obama administration’s and the Democrats’ lies keep spreading and they’re beginning to trip over their lies.
If Amazon had a sale for every item I’ve (and many millions just like me) placed in my “cart” but ended up never actually buying, Amazon’s stock would be several times higher than it is.
