The Exchanges charge a 2% fee for hosting enrollments. Imagine if you were lucky enough to be an Exchange owner - 2% of every policy purchased. If a million people paid $3,000 you would skim off a nice chunk of change. Hope for losers, change for winners, “Ex” “change”.

What is really funny to me is all that stuff is a Cadillac Plan, but he is gonna tax those brutally, yet his minions who sign up for this mess get this full boat BCBS type plan with a subsidy, and we all get to pay for it Redistribution, plain and simple.

If you go to the ER without insurance you should just get a bill — plain and simple. If you don’t pay the bill, you go to jail. Case closed.

Ambulances will deliver you if you can't give informed consent to stop treatment. So if you are unemployed you might as well kill yourself ahead of time.

Brings up another issue on Obamacare lost jobs.

There are a lot of Canadians who have invested in winter time shares and 2nd homes in the US, in major part for access to healthcare here in the US. They hate having to wait 6 months to get permission to have a doctor's visit or an outpatient procedure performed.

Local economies depending upon foreign tourism need to be prepared to take a substantial loss in tourist trade when Obamacare goes into effect.

That’s hardly a free market solution.

I believe that the idea is that they are taking something without paying, and that taking without paying is some variety of theft.

So, if it is theft, it really isn’t an issue of free markets. It’s a matter of criminal law.

As I’m sure you’re aware, hospitals can and often do, take people to collections if they don’t pay. But going to an emergency room for treatment without insurance coverage isn’t a criminal matter. Or it shouldn’t be, anyway.

NOT PAYING is a reasonable bit of evidence one could use to conclude a theft had been intended.

The difference is the methods of billing, yes?. No one ever receives a bill for services rendered at the time of an emergency room treatment... If one leaves the hospital pharmacy without paying for a prescription, then yes that’s theft. But I’ve yet to see a cash register at the checkout of a hospital emergency room. If that was the expectation up front then your Walmart analogy would be relevant.

Not just tourism jobs. When people learn that they will have to pay hundreds of dollars a month extra for insurance, and thousands more if they need medical care, that will cut WAY DOWN on disposable income. What Barky and Friends don't seem to realize is that it's the middle class that spends disposable income on things like new cars, new homes, and stuff that furnishes those homes. The same people that Barky and Friends expect to pay for the new medical care services for tens of millions of new "patients." How many auto workers will find themselves laid off? How many in the construction business? And how many in the industries that supply and service auto manufacturing and construction?
