Let the blame game begin over ObamaCares oversights.
The nations largest health insurer, UnitedHealthcare, claims the Affordable Care Act is responsible for forcing it to boot doctors from its Medicare Advantage program that serves thousands of elderly patients in the New York metro region.
CEO Jack Larsen, under fire for separating seniors from their MDs, took out full-page ads to explain that cuts in Medicare spending forced the insurers hand.
We are working to collaborate with a more focused network of physicians to help us provide higher quality and more affordable health care coverage to meet the needs of our members, and help them get more from their health plan benefits, Larsen said.
This work has become even more urgent in light of the severe funding reductions for Medicare Advantage plans that have come from Washington.
Even fervent supporters of ObamaCare are investigating complaints that elderly patients are being unnecessarily separated from their doctors.

Pelosi warned us — they had to pass it before people found out what was in it.
Six months from now the health care system is going to be in utter chaos.
Remember back during Hillarycare, there were daily stories of how 40-50 million Americans were uninsured, AND WE HAVE TO FRICKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Nowadays? Not a peep because people are losing their insurance in droves.
So people are losing their insurance, and the Democrats are being condescending to them, calling their plans substandard. It just confirms that when Dems propose something, there's always a means to an end while the original intent is simply propaganda to fool the public.
Six months from now the health care system is going to be in utter chaos.”
It already is. If this law isn’t sent to the shredder PDQ, there won’t be a health care system in six months. We are getting lots of calls from patients wanting to know what they should do. All I can tell them is to write and call their Congressmen and Senators as well as make a personal trip to their local office.
The further we get into this implementation of Great Leader Care, the worse the consequences will be. We are very early in the process. The nightmare will be long.
The way is shut. There is no escape. The DemoSocialist party will die for this.
It should. Unfortunately so will our health care system and the economy.
Yes but the chaos now will seem like nothing compared to what’s coming.
If you knew the number of physicians who are planning to cut back or who are already cutting back you would be shocked. Many are re-evaluating their options and finding alternatives.
I’ve been reading about it and heard about it from my dental hygienist. She named about six businesses, non-health field, in this town who were laying off due to 0bamaCare. The pop here is about 9,000. She also personally knew of a half dozen doctors and dentists here and the Ft. Collins/Loveland area who would be retiring. Believe me I know.
It should. Unfortunately so will our health care system and the economy.
Some frightful times are ahead. No doubt about it.
Still, there's a very good chance that this painful lesson will show Americans the utter bankruptcy of the left's ideology and agenda, which should lead to a massive political realignment that results in a restored free market, that will enable the rebuilding of all that was lost.
Not without a literal shooting war in the streets IMO. TPTB aren’t going to let go without a tooth and nail fight. That and all the political/social conflict that goes with it is what we have to be prepared for.
What are they going to do if a majority of Americans reject the national Dems at the polls? Declare the Constitution abolished, and institute a police state?
They'll get their shooting war if they try that. A whole lot of decorated lamp posts, too. The ultimate reset will come that much faster.
People with 'company's group plans' think they're not going to be touched by ObamaCare - but they're wrong. Doctor shortages will effect them too.
Yes but the chaos now will seem like nothing compared to whats coming.”
You mean when people have a medical emergency and call their doctor or go to the hospital and nobody can determine whether or not they even have insurance and they have to pay out-of-pocket if they want to be treated?
None of my doctor clients schedule patients who want to use their insurance the first week of January because information on benefit plans for the new year is oftentimes not available. This year some of them are talking about not taking any insurance patients the entire month of January - private pay only.
Listened to a gal explaining to some seniors on TV tonight that their insurance was not going to change - but she never once mentioned anything about any of the Medicare replacement policies which are either being cancelled or the doctor’s contract cancelled. Death panels anyone?
