Quite possible. But the Saudi’s could also scared enough that they might want their own bomb, not against Israel but against the Shiite Muslim Iranians. Not good. This could also convince the Saudis, as well as the Israelis, that the U.S. is not a reliable ally. I would not want to predict what would happen if the Saudi’s decided to break their alliance with us. One possible result could be the end of the Petro Dollar if they were to start accepting contracts in other currencies. Again, not good.
