Eventually Israel will come to realize it has much in common with Saudi Arabia. The Saudi royal family is terrified of Iran. Publicly the royals pose as upright Muslims. The use strict Islamic rules to control their population. However privately they lead rather decadent lives especially when abroad. There is always conflict between the Sunni and Shia Muslims. The Saudis are vulnerable to being denounced as unfit guardians of Islam’s most holy sites. They are really fearful of a nuclear armed Iran. Once Iran has nuclear arms it can never be subjected a large scale conventional attack. Conversely it will be free to project its power and destabilize its Sunni enemies. The Saudis for their own reasnos fear a nuclear armed Iran.

Your take on the situation is qutie interesting and has the ring of truth. One seldom things of nuclear weapons as being defensive in nature.
The Israelis have been secret allies to the GCC for some time now. I think they have all the plans for dealing with Iran already made and in the can. Our military was part of the secret war room but has now withdrawn
With the desertion of Obama, they must now get serious and revert to plan Orange 3 that was for the contingency where the untrustworthy Obama would chicken out.
Obama lacks the ability to prosecute war, is a pacifist coward and a plain old damn fool. They all know that and I think they pushed him to get out, to turn them loose to act.
