WASHINGTON While President Obama continues his cross country pitch on the merits of his landmark health care law, dismal new data shows only five people in the D.C. area have signed up for the Affordable Care Act or ObamaCare.
The enrollment data from the four health insurance companies participating the D.C. exchange was released Friday by Republicans Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Orrin Hatch of Utah.
A lot of Americans are getting cancellation notices from their current health care plan but they havent been able to enroll in a new plan, Grassley said in a written statement. The limbo and uncertainty are stressful for them, as theyve been describing in emails to my office. The chaos imposed on so many people is reason to at least delay the individual mandate, if not outright appeal it.

I submit it’s by design.
They want low numbers because low numbers contribute to the crisis they are manufacturing. Low numbers means it can’t work. Only old/sick people signing up means costs are high, and without healthy young people paying a lot, it can’t work. Both points have been admitted by obamacare folks.
They want it to fail and become a massive crisis. They don’t want enough people to sign up in time. They want tens of millions of people worried about tax issues, they want tens of millions of people without coverage, because
as they put it - we have to do something because people’s health issues don’t just wait if we delay it -
and with this,
we will get emergency crisis resolution in the form of single payer (ie communist govt run) healthcare.
And that will have been the goal to achieve all along.
Obamacare is control. Its a crisis stepping stone to single payer, which is total control. They are leaping over quasi-total control and deliberately tanking it to have leverage to go for it all quickly under the guise of an unprecedented disaster on a scale never before seen.
And likely with the GOPe and RINOs we have they will get it.
And all five of those who signed up for the exchange were old retired Army guys who thought they were signing up to get a ride to the PX (Post Exchange).
why this is too funny. there are two main groups that they need to have signup to make obamacare viable. healthy 25 year olds and poor minorities.
a healthy 25 year old who does well financially (assuming no employer healthcare) will pay less in penalties than for insurance.
poor, welfare dependent minorities have no intention of coming up with the ambition to take any responsibility.
Obama tours to sell health care law, while only 5 sign up in own backyard
Meaning he still hasn't learned a thing. Talk about stubborn jackass
When you lose your insurance in DC your only alternative is the exchange. No private insurance.
Crawl back under your rock you troll
Gee thanks for telling us what PX means./s
.
I am an old retired Army guy, so I get to make fun of this group. Here’s an idea! Go to Walmart and see if you can buy yourself a sense of humor. You obviously need one.
And you can go with him. Wait a minute! There’s some kids running across your lawn! Get out there and yell at them!
Dang. Rough crowd tonight!
Eh. Lots of mad people. You can’t really blame them. The Democrats are really screwing things up. They just need to look at your posting history before they get all wound up.
No lawn here——my lawn days are over, thank God.
.
It might be funny to you. My husband is an old retired guy and I would not appreciate it if he said something like that
Where are all the navigators?
I figured there would be hundreds (thousands?) of them in DC press-ganging peeps into Obamcare so they could trumpet the success.
Some freepers here are getting just as touchy, sensitive, victim-ish, put-upon and humor-less as those on the national scene they rail against at every opportunity.
Leni
I thought it was funny. Just ignore the old poopy heads.
Well, could’a fooled me. I didn’t think there were five people in D.C. capable of signing up.
