To: null and void
Had my DNA tested six years ago via Family Tree DNA (both Y chromosome and autosomal) and have never been contacted by anyone other than other FTDNA clients.
I recently discovered a second cousin (92 y/o) who led me to the reason for the odd middle names of my grandfather and his brother.

This can be a lifesaver for the aging population. The efficacy of most of the drugs we will all be taking is controlled by our genes. Some of us are fast metabolizers of drugs, some slow. The bottom line is that standard doses of powerful drugs can deliver a sub-optimal or lethal dose. Good to know where you stand in advance.

Your friendly pharmacist.

When genealogical DNA testing came out years ago, I saw it as writing on the wall. No way would I ever submit voluntarily.

I had my DNA tested last year at 23&Me, also for exploring the family tree, at the request of my four sisters. They have also found more relatives and much about our ancestry. It said I am more likely than most to metabolize caffeine poorly, which I do, have a good memory, which I do, and have cancer, which I did. All the mail from 23 & Me goes to my sister and she hasn’t mentioned anything else.
