The results of the Virginia election should be enough to cause a revolt within the GOP. But nothing will come of it.

I sympathize with Cuccinelli. But Reagan was portrayed as a wild-eyed crazy by the media every time he ran for office. When he went up against Carter in 1980, he was slammed as a senile old crazy who would get us all killed in a nuclear war. He won anyway. Politicians win because of superior political skills, not their political views. Cuccinelli went through trial by election, and was found wanting. Superior politicians anticipate everything, look for ways to respond effectively within their resource constraints and find a way to win.

The GOP's job is to their part to get candidates elected, and that means channeling money to campaigns that can win. It turns out Cuccinelli was easily electable, and the GOP either failed to recognize it or chose to leave him twisting because they considered him too conservative. Probably the latter.

This loss belongs to the GOPe, its what they wanted.

So he should have run as a Clinton?

You could be a spokesperson for Tokyo Rove for all we know.

I don’t see how can any Tea Party conservative, who has said that he or she would NEVER vote for a “moderate” Republican, can then complain that a lack of “support” from “moderate” Republicans caused a Tea Party conservative candidate to lose an election.

Sorry... Loyalty is a two-way street. Conservatives and moderates CAN defeat Obama’s socialists — but ONLY if we work TOGETHER.

Did anyone on Cuccinelli’s staff try to persuade the Libertarian candidate to withdraw? No? THAT would have given Cuccinelli the win.

Did Cuccinelli “push back” hard on the “Tea Party war on women” charge? No?

Attempted blame-shifting is soooo Obama...
