I heard Anne Coulter on the radio last week saying that Health Care Plans that are arrived at through collective bargaining will be permitted to change without losing their ‘gradfather” status. So union members will be able to keep their plans, but non-union members will be screwed.
I don’t have the cite for that. I just heard it on the radio.
Union Obamacare carve-out:
“Any coverage amendment made pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement relating to the coverage which amends the coverage solely to conform to any requirement added by [Obamacare] shall not be treated as a termination of such collective bargaining agreement.”
I dont have the cite for that. I just heard it on the radio.
Its after the text on "changes to the medical plan"...around page 3,500 if I remember correct.....or was it 35000
Here it is:
Collective Bargaining Plans - Any collectively bargained health plan that was ratified prior to March 23, 2010 will enjoy many of the same exemptions as other grandfathered group health plans. One exception, however, is that "grandfathered" collective bargained plans may change insurance carriers during the term of the agreement without losing grandfathered status.
