People went to prison -- Republicans rightly went to prison -- because of corruption with oil companies, partly becuase of Palin's leadership.

If they committed crimes that's where they should go. Just because she happened to be governor at the time does not mean she would be a good president.

There was no "tax." It was essentially a land use fee based on the going price of oil, and the land belongs to Alaskans.

Pure spin. It's a tax, every bit as much as the gas taxes you pay. Worse, it was retroactive. I'll bet you liked that too.

That's a state's thing, Alaska alone is about one quarter the size of the continental US. I guess you think oil companies shouldn't have to pay to use that land? Or that if it does, it should go to the politicians?

I do think that oil companies should pay landowners for mineral rights, but I do not believe in government ownership of land. I guess you believe in State ownership of land, which is the essence of socialism sonny.

Sheesh. Just because you liked the deal does not make Palin a principled conservative, in this instance, quite the contrary.

This is why Cruz can manuver Washington....and why Sarah supports him....and puts him at the top of the list....he knows political law and otherwise....and he fully stands on the Constitution and knows what it is and means......

Thanks to 2nd Division Vet for this brief:

“Cruz was only the primary editor of the law review at Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude....... and was founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review, the Attorney General of our largest contiguous state,...... and served as a law clerk to J. Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States in 1996.... as the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States..... and assembled the Bush legal team,... devised strategy,..... and drafted pleadings for filing with the Supreme Court of Florida and U.S. Supreme Court, the specific case being Bush v. Gore, during the 2000 Florida presidential recounts, ....leading to two successful decisions for the Bush team.”
