Sarah Palin 2016: Former Alaska Governor Laying Groundwork For Possible Presidential Run

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

Sarah Palin may be once again dreaming of the White House and a run for the presidency in 2016.

After a long absence from the political arena, Palin appears to be strategically increasing her appearances and speeches while also taking solid aim at President Obama. This has led many political experts to conclude that she is aiming to enter the 2016 presidential race, or at least is trying to test the waters for a potential run.

The rumors kicked up a bit this week when a spokesman for the Rev. Billy Graham announced that Sarah Palin will be a guest for the reverend’s 95th birthday. Graham still carries great political sway, so much in fact that Mitt Romney carved out time to meet with Graham in the final days of the 2012 presidential race in the hopes of earning a public endorsement and assuring conservative voters.

Graham’s birthday celebration is also drawing other big names in the conservative world, including real estate mogul Donald Trump.

Sarah Palin has also taken her political tour to Iowa, one of the most important states for Republican hopefuls. On November 9 Palin is slated to speak at the annual banquet for the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, an important conservative and evangelical group.

After spending a long stretch away from the spotlight, Palin is also ramping up her political attacks on President Obama in what could be the groundwork for her 2016 platform.

In a Facebook post entitled “Obama’s Debt Default is on His Shoulders While We Shoulder His Impeachable Offenses,” she placed the blame for the debt limit fight solely on Obama’s shoulders.

“Defaulting on our national debt is an impeachable offense, and any attempt by President Obama to unilaterally raise the debt limit without Congress is also an impeachable offense,” Palin wrote.

If Sarah Palin is planning a 2016 presidential run, she will have even more ammunition to boost her resume in the coming weeks. On November 12, three days after her planned speech in Iowa, Palin will be released a book taking on the conservative-friendly topic of the War on Christmas.

Pain promises that in the book — titled Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas — she will “tell you how to fight back against those politically correct Scrooges who seem to hate not just a beautiful holiday, but an entire faith.”

Sarah Palin is still a long way from an official 2016 presidential run, however, and likely wouldn’t declare any intention to run for several months.

those of you who worship Sarah

Do I detect a lingering case of PDS? You seem to have a certain degree of emotion attached to your analysis of Palin.

As for that analysis, it seems to be more viewpoint and reaction than anything else. That's fine. You're allowed to come to any conclusion you want, through whatever means suit you. I just don't see that you're applying much logic or reason to get there.

She's still the same threatening force to the left that she's always been, hence the negative commentary about her from the professional chattering class every time she raises her voice. If she were really a non player, she wouldn't be newsworthy. She also wouldn't have the ability to help good candidates win elections with her endorsements.

Whether she'll ever run for office again is anyone's guess, but if she does decide to throw her hat in the ring for 2016, she'll have massive support from across the country. She's got the 'right stuff' and the executive experience we need in a President. It'll take a reformer of her caliber to roll back much of the damage Obama's done (and will do).

That is NOT a candidacy announcement. It is a “fire in the belly announcement.”

You really think there's that much of a difference? I think she's very interested in running and I also think that it's going to be very crowded to the right. Palin, Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Perry, and half a dozen minor candidate like Santorum and Bachmann will be running. Hopefully things can be weeded out early and a true conservative front runner be identified before the establishment forces a Jeb Bush or a Chris Christie on us.

No, in fact, I was really impressed with her when she burst on the scene and tried to “rescue” the McLame “Campaign.” And I thought it was nothing short of disgraceful the way the “McLame Camp” treated her, so I fail to understand why she has not distanced herself from McLame.
But at the end of the day, Sarah’s choices since that time have not done anything to strengthen her as a potential candidate, and sorry to say, a conservative woman will not play well with the bulk of women today, who by a large margin, are liberal and vote that way.
We would not have Obama today if it weren’t for Blacks AND women.

A Palin run would be grand. She's got my vote. I might even have to re-register as a Republican to vote for her in the primary.

But the establishment wants Christie. Or JEB Bush (nonohellno). Unless the Tea Party spanks establishment candidates righteously in the 2014 primaries we are going to be running against Hillary with a RINO again. That'll work well. Not.

"as if she purposely lead us all on"

Exactly right, the fantasy Sarah that many Freepers formed a mental image of (remember when she was compared to Washington, Patton, William Wallace, El Cid, etc etc?) had no counterpart in reality.

Mind you I'll certainly support her if she's on the ticket. It's just that I don't want a superhero(ine) President. I want a Coolidge, with a green eyeshade, who knows that he's the hired help.

I’ve always liked Sarah, and I would be pleased to vote for her if she was the nominee-—no question.

That said, I’ve seen no sign that she will run. The person who wrote the above article is hopeful she will and seems to be looking for reasons to support his hopes. But I take her at her word. She told Mark Levin she didn’t want to run for president, and I haven’t seen any signs that she might have changed her mind.

Like I said, I’d vote for her, but at this point I prefer Ted Cruz.

This thread reminds me of the mess our nation is in, we quibble at things we are simply surmising or guessing at the reasons it went the way it did.

The unification of the Democrats and the division of the Republicans is visible for all to see. They band together, we argue and each hold on to our view points. and thus get no where and continue to be in second place.

Ever since the last time we were in the top position, (when Newt was speaker and Clinton was President). Republicans were being constantly criticized and thus hated being in charge. We act like we are afraid ... and maybe we are.

For sure we do not take a strong position, let us stand strong and unify with the republicans and emphasis the dire state of our nation, and the reality that we must change course or experience implosion.

God bless America, in Jesus name, amen.

We can't keep running in circles like last election....nor wait til the last minute to squabble over who we like best....Sarah has a popular following but IMO she isn't interested in running but may be used to distract the press ,now, as a moving target...which isn't a bad idea...if her followers will understand that would be her purpose.

Unfortunately they had a hard time letting go before and so even the thought she could run draws them back in droves....but IMO she has no intentions of running.

I like Cruz very much and believe he has with strength to withstand what he'll face running....the demo-rats are already gearing up in these primaries and know now how the tea-party works...they will be more ferocious this time around...and counting on the divisions in our party to help them.

Do you know any candidate that does not have some or even a lot of supporters who have an inflated view of who they are?

I don't either......

I don't care what the President is stylistically as long as conservative, limited government successfully replaces what we have now.

Yep...I agree...unfortunately her followers will hold tight til she makes that clear...and I have no doubt she will make it clear she is not running....but until then the press can be distracted from those who are serious about running....she makes an awesome moving target...and it’s always entertaining to hear her slam the opposition! She’s a free agent so she can say what she wants...and that’s just how she likes it.

I think we saw from the last election running so many isn’t exactly the best thing to do....it occupies a lot of otherwise time and money better spent getting behind fewer.

Perry, Bachmann and Santorum need to stand down IMO...they had their chance.....we sure don’t need re-runs as I see it...especially with the others mentioned.

I also agree this needs to be determined sooner rather than later....definately!

<...”Is it too late for us? I don’t know”....>

There's a lot of people wondering about that...this next election cycle will tell us......remember the press barely had a single bad word to say about Romney until everyone else dropped out.....so how this cycle runs will tell us much.

I'm not comfortable with many running this time....the fewer the better for then the nonsense can be over with earlier....thus giving the real candidates opportunity to speak candidly.

I sometimes think some of these candidates run just so they can get bought out of the race later.....Santorum comes to mind in that respect. He's from my home state so we know all about him here....he cannot win and of course split the ticket last time around. No re-runs is where I stand.

Two different subjects. I established that she never ANNOUNCED she was running. That’s different from WANTING to run.

Her intentions were transparent. She was keeping her irons in the fire, mulling whether to run or not. That’s NOT announcing.

The guy that wrote this needs to get out more. Sarah Louise has not been inactive. I regularly send her bus gas money to help her stay on the road. I don’t really expect her to put in for the top spot but she certainly has the mojo to force the conversation and if she takes the VEEP spot again I’ll keep the gas money coming.

So far as Billy Graham goes remember that he buddied up with Clinton also. He had his chance to take a position and shined it on. Disappointing to me-—wish him happy b-day and call it good.

2 – For what reason would Mrs. Palin take her entire family on a “bus tour” of historic sites around the United States? The key here is the BUS. If she wanted to tour these sites, she could easily do it in her family vehicle. Why stir up all the attendant media coverage?

Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Candidates begin running long before their formal announcement...amd I'd say that Sarah Palin is running. Considering it's going to be a crowded field then she's probably wise in doing so.

“Remember in 2012 when she announced she was not running the day after releasing her big “Undefeated” video? Half of FR was on suicide watch.”

Wow, so much wrong here. Is that you, Joe Biden?

Palin announced she would not run on 10/5/2011.

Undefeated was released in June 2011.

But you probably believe with Crazy Uncle Joe that FDR gave a fireside chat on TV in 1929 when the stock market crashed, don’t you?

Facts are your friends. Why don’t you make friends with them?

“Remember that Palin didn’t tell us until October 2011 that she wasn’t running. By then, most conservative alternatives were already knocked out of the race, allowing Mitt Romney to easily capture the nomination. “

Sigh.

Well, thanks for getting the date right, anyway.

But by that time, Santorum had still to win Iowa (Jan 12), Gingrich had still to win South Carolina (Jan 12), so the conservatives had NOT been knocked out.

Yep. Must be tough to be Sarah Palin. Apparently, she’s responsible for Every bad thing in Every election that Ever happens. Yeah, that’s a tough row to hoe all right./sarc
