As the politicians fuss and fight over the merits of the biggest overhaul of the health insurance system in this country, you may be wondering, "What does this all mean to me?" Here's what we know so far about what's up with your health care.
1. It's all about me
The Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as it is now commonly known, went into effect in 2010 and was affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2012, despite the 42 times the House Republicans tried to repeal it.
It will have the most dramatic impact on the 48 million Americans who don't or haven't been able to get insurance. By 2014, everyone -- with a few exceptions -- has to have insurance or face a penalty.

Have your barf bag handy.
LOL—there should be a rule that, whenever a “journalist” admits that “here’s what we know so far,” he or she should disclose their ties to the Administration.
This is so funny - this idiotic CNN reporterette is writing this as if no one knows what is going on, and she’s researched this little known subject we call Obamacare and can tell us what to think. What a foolish little reporter babe ..
The skinny for folks with lives who haven’t got time to invest in MSM tripe:
“As a journalist with my lips permanently affixed to BO’s backside, and neither the initiative, brains or integrity to have read 2,000+ pages of donkey legislation when it was passed, and now that the country as a whole recognizes this pig for the fiasco that it is, it’s my job to cover it in lipstick so that the folks in the “news” industry don’t end up looking like the worthless boot-lickers that we actually are.”
Yes, because of all the freebies mandated by the Gov't all our costs go UP!
Now...why should I pay so you can find out if you're depressed?
Not very "transparent" is it?
I can get my blood pressure checked free at the pharmacy.
I’ve been wondering what doctors are going to spend all their time doing without compensation...
The National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association Board of Directors has affirmed Jen Christensen of CNN as its new president.
I can get my blood pressure checked free at the pharmacy.
I can get my blood pressure checked free at home. :-)
Wow - logic fault and outright lie double!
When speaking with Metro Weekly, Christensen was in her hometown, Chicago, working on a documentary about presumed Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.).
‘’It’s the best job I’ve ever had in my life,’’ she says. ‘’I get to travel the world, and interview Barack Obama. It’s a dream.’’
If she goes to work as a supposed “journalist” for the Administration as a Mouthpiece, she will simply transition from being an UNPAID spokesman for Obamacare at CNN to a PAID spokesman for Obamacare at the White House, like so many of her fellow “reporters”.
“Poppycock” Dutch: warm horse-droppings
Me too. I could probably start a small business doing blood pressure readings for people in my neighborhood.
Would that be practicing medicine without a license?
Had not seen this anywhere else. If true, no wonder prices are going up...
A completely nonsensical and irrelevant argument - that in no way is evidence of it being a good law.
It will have the most dramatic impact on the 48 million Americans who don't or haven't been able to get insurance. By 2014, everyone -- with a few exceptions -- has to have insurance or face a penalty.
Baloney. Many are having to do the penalty who previously had health insurance they could afford and met their needs and now can longer get it due to this law and replacements allowed by the law are not affordable nor provide as much coverage. It will have a dramatic impact on everyone as less and less actual healthcare is available due to facilities scaling back or even shutting down, and doctors retiring by the droves.
These arguments by the left are embarrassingly absurd. Do they actually think they make sense when they make them?
