One potentially large adverse impact of Obama are has been little discussed in the circus surrounding the rollout debacle.
The whole Obamination collapses, of course, if few (other than Medicaid enrollees and seriously ill folks) sign up. However, if the administration does cajole many millions into enrolling, another major problem rears its head. The effect of the astonishing increase in premiums, deductibles, and co-pays most will incur will be identical to that of a huge tax increase. If those millions, come January 1, are pounding hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars a month down the ObamaCare rathole, a huge percentage of them will find themselves keeping their old jalopy a few more years, buying far fewer restaurant meals, taking fewer and shorter vacations closer to home, buying clothes for the kiddies at thrift stores, etc. Coming in the face of sluggish economy, the country will see a spike in layoffs and unemployment, particularly in light of other ObamaCare taxes like those on investment income which will be going into effect in 2014.
Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
I’d love to start a Schadenfreude section on FR (OK, just daydreaming)—where we get to read stories from freepers who know liberals who are looking at ruination because of Obamacare.
