Actually, it was a colonel and now that the clearance of officers is at that level, I am concerned. Historically, generals are too invested in the system to upset the applecart — it is colonels that rise up to save their nations or push out decayed regimes.
I’m ready for an entire system flush at this point, and if that means having 4 or 5 colonels that love their country run the place for a decade while we get a new constitution in place that will slow down the rate at which liberty gets eroded during the next go around, bring it already.
Until the whole story is known, we should reserve judgement.
It could very well be that this officer is being railroaded, but there are circumstances where that may not be the case.
I think it is a mistake to jump on the “officer corps purge” bandwagon with this particular case until we know more.
And besides, USNBandit might well even have a different perspective on the situation. For all we know, he might even know someone who knows of the situation personally. It isn’t unheard of.
My current source say it was "The Crypt Keeper."
The govt just LOVES the Sams club, BJs, and Costco. Every purchase is tracked even if cash is paid.
Buy with cash at NON-membership businesses.
To paraphrase my favorite Lewis Grizzard joke (though he was speaking about the Libyan Army in 1986):
“Finland couldn’t even beat Vanderbilt, fer Crissakes!”
Do officers and senior enlisted personnel ever wear anything other than BDU's anymore?
I don’t know anybody involved, but Stars and Stripes (Yokota) covered the story of the pervious 2 star getting pulled there over the summer. The allegations involved protecting another officer (don’t think isn’t was the CO). Now the new 2 star yanks the base CO. When something like this hits a base and a 2 star gets yanked, the damage usually doesn’t stop there.
Thanks for keeping tally up to date.
hummimgbird, check out post #105...
I feel it is really incomplete. I think that we will find out much more over the near future.
I tend to agree.
I have seen 3 Majors and 1 Lt Col lose their jobs in the past three years.
I knew them personally. The bosses cited loss of confidence in them to lead as the only reason. “officially”
Could be a standard thing, but, I am more leery of it now.
If it had been up to the Clintons, he would not have had a first term.
My final US Army assignment before retirement was the 1SG for the 17th Area Support Group/USARJ IX Corps.
I saw the photo on that interweb thing and thought you’d appreciate it.
The comments at Stars and Stripes tells a different story...of a respected commander.
