Many schools are providing breakfast, lunch and even sending a knapsack home with them on the weekends, filled with food.

Why aren’t those meals being deducted from the welfare money they get since they are ‘double dipping’?

Welfare ain’t meant to buy luxury food. If he is retired, a bag of flour, bag of rice and bag of beans will go very far.

I’ll bet the flat screen in the living room would fetch enough to make up the difference.

Also... this temporary increase was a gimme that resulted from Porkulus in 2009. How ever did the poor little waifs survive prior to that?

Come on. This guy lives in San Fran the liberal bastion of the US. He should be able to go on the streets and beg that $20 in about 5 minutes. Its not like he has any dignity left to lose.

and because of dumb**&^ plan, my healthcare costs have gone up 20%. That’s 20% less money I have to spend on discretionary things like food, clothes, maybe going to a movie, etc.

spare me the sympathy stories.

I also see a microwave in the background. I notice the pictures are getting better at not revealing too much about the households.

there was one article posted the other day with a picture of a mom and her kid with a bunch of wine bottles in the back. you got money for alcohol, you got money for food.

Watch the price of used Escalades drops as many hit the market.

So what was so wrong with distribution of commodities?

A similar program of providing other household foodstuffs, such as peanut butter, saltine crackers, dried milk and baloney, will keep people alive. Living facilities with access to cooking utensils could also make use of rice, various kinds of pasta, and canned meats or fish.

No food stamps were necessary when people could walk into local food pantries and just select the minimum food supplies necessary to adequately feed the very young and elderly. Supposedly, this option is still available in most places in the territory once known as “the United States of America”.

Not a perfect system, by any means, but the SNAP agency is?

The increase in benefits was part of the stimulus.
The increase has expired.
How did they survive before the stimulus?

For every family like this their are TWENTY who have to buy two less bags of crack and 3 forties. This program should be temporary not generational. At least they should be made to work if they can’t make it on their own.

So long as this guy (http://www.ijreview.com/2013/08/72344-obamas-food-stamp-program-ca-surfer-buys-sushi-lobster-avoids-work/) can continue his scam, the program is overfunded.

He can afford to live in San Francisco?

Well, he retired from his elections office job in his 50's, so his pension is probably a mere $120K or so... no one can live on that. Absolutely we should work until we're 85 so we can help this poor man get by.

I have yet see an article that says "increasing taxes, and and fuel and food prices have working families struggling."

Is the Ministry of Praise and Propaganda going to write articles on that subject?

Let the food stamp people face the same choices those of us who pay for our own food...and theirs... have made the past few years.

It makes me mad to see people checking out with meats I can't afford like I used to!

You'll find some interesting reading on the subject by searching for “diabetes food stamps correlation”.

Yep, I suspect it's an overload in the Compassion Circuit. Or maybe the Boo Hoo regulator is burnt out. In any case, I find myself yawning at "tragic" stories of illegal immigrant families being broken up by deportations, homeless people starving under bridges, and welfare breeders who have to forgo one sandwich and one bowl of soup a week.

Oddly enough, I find myself sympathizing with the working mom who has to pay half of her meager salary in taxes, or the blue-collar dad who can't afford to send his daughter to college because he's broke after paying for obamaphones, Section 8 housing, and EBT for third-generation parasites.

So maybe it's just a distortion in the Sympathy Field.
