I think the reporters are of the same mentality as the entitled receiving the “benefit” -

they SHOULD have all the neat stuff that everyone else has
AND get the benefit.

It’s only people like us, who DO make tradeoffs and purchasing decisions,
that notice that these people DON’T make the same tradeoffs that we have to.

Importantly, because of the Obama depression, there are LOTS of people on food stamps who have never been on food stamps before. Many who were laid off and are unemployed and can’t find work, and whose unemployment has run out. Many who have just lost their health insurance because their rates have jumped, or they were canceled from plans they could barely afford.

Right now, churches and charities that provide food for the poor are strained to the point of breaking.

By far, Obama will go down in US history as a POTUS who hurt more people than were hurt by the Great Depression; and Obama’s emphasis was on hurting the poor and weak most of all.

He will be remembered as a cruel and unfeeling tyrant, along with his mean spirited henchmen and sycophants like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. People who did not care if millions of Americans suffered, as long as they got their way, in following the tenets of their dead and false religion of socialism.

Where was all the weeping, waling and gnashing of teeth when all of us who worked for a living got their taxes raised on January 1? The 2% reduction in FICA taxes which was cancelled meant an extra $100 per month or so in my take home pay.

I just got home from Walmart. The food stamp crowd didn’t seem too upset. The cut was too small to get riots. Some may not even pay attention to the amount loaded on their cards.

I think you’re right. Reporters live in the same fantasy world as many of the “underclass.” “Everything should be free, and personal choices should have no consequences.”

Why is a single adult capable of working getting food stamps at all? Let’em go hungry and maybe they will be motivated to get a damn job.

I suspect that most won't notice until late in the month when they run short.

I suppose that 1 in 7 people receive food stamps talk to the “popularity” of the program judging by how Obamacare is deemed as “popular” because millions are being forced into using it.

I still think I could manage on the $189 if I had to.

That's just over $6 a day, which wouldn't be that difficult.

“And presumably there are other resources such as food banks, charities, churches, etc. before ANY of “their own” money needs to be spent on food.”

I watched a well-dressed “Female Holder’s Person, use Food Stamps for all of her groceries, then pull out some cash to pay for a bottle of Chivas Regal! That’s how this program really works! I don’t deny that some people are genuinely in need, but my bet is that there is a lot of this. BTW, the woman was obese!
