I’m estimating 5 million by the end of the week.

In 2010 the White House estimated that 93 million Americans would lose coverage, according to Forbes.

I heard Rove on Fox last night saying that the cost per person will go up dramatically because only the very sick will enroll and not enough people will enroll either.

They can’t offer a single justification for trying to make people who are ineligible for subsidies to go through a government “exchange”—or for making those who are eligible for subsidies go through an “exchange” to receive them.

This is entirely a pre-nationalization set up.

The tax penalty will pay for this socialism in the near term.

I am beginning to doubt this. For one thing, many, maybe most, elderly Americans will be exempt from the penalty because medical insurance will be "unaffordable," that is, cost more than 8% of their income. Then, in the 37 states which did not set up their own "exchanges," the penalties do not apply. Also, from what I understand, the penalty can only be collected by the IRS by deducting it from tax refunds. So whoever makes sure that he/she is not overwithheld, cannot be forced to pay the penalty.

</i>Forbes</i> calculated 93 million would lose coverage based on administration estimates published in the Federal Register 6/17/2010. That’s an interesting number. If Obama would walk a mile in the shoes of each he’d precisely reach the sun. Close enough to where I’d tell him to go.

With the exception of the few chosen ones, 99% of the population. This includes the Obama worshipers that put him in the White House. After it has done its work and ran its course, obamacare will substantially reduce the population of the United States. You can believe it or not

My plan is great and went up ~10% last Jan, I do anticipate changes and more rate increases in the near future too. . .

My mother (age 90), a retiree since 1986, is having herself shoved off the plan she worked for and paid into for over 27 years.

I get correspondence saying she has to make a switch to ‘Extend Care’ (an “O” plan) by Jan 1, and when I call their number, people who can barely speak English ask for an employee number, then put me on ‘hold’ ... which is really DEAD AIR and they DO NOT return!

I have called MANY times and it's the same on EVERY CALL>

Disrupted? Ha! I think of disruption as a little, mild inconvenience. This is a crisis. People are going to go to the poorhouse. Very few people, besides the protected and savored Obama class of welfare bums and top 2%, will even be able to afford to go to the doctor anymore.

This is a calamity, not a disruption.

Question is how many will die because of this debacle and who designed it that way?

“the cost per person will go up dramatically because only the very sick will enroll”

Many with pre-existing conditions, who are currently on the CHIP program, are being forced to sign up for Obamacare by the middle of December.

CHIP rates are pricey for those in their 50 - 60s, but the policy allows people to choose their own doctors. It would be interesting to see how many want to switch to Obamacare.

How about when people find out, that even after paying for their share of employer based insurance that, well too bad, it does not meet the 0-care requirements, and, well too bad, they owe the tax/penalty too.
GOP and rinos better wake up because the public won’t be content with just voting them out of office for going along and not strenuously opposing thus stuff.

The dems can avoid reality, but around this time in 2014 will show that they can’t avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

For most people there is no slice of cheese from the exchanges. I have a 59 yr old cousin who works every day but has no insurance and hasn’t had any insurance forever. She goes to a free clinic in town when she needs to see a doctor. I put her info into the CoveredCa site just to see what it would come up with. She qualifies for a subsidized premium so that she would only pay $1 a month and would have insurance. The kicker is all the plans have a $5k deductible that she couldn’t come up with to save her life. So essentially she will be charged $1 a month for insurance that she will NEVER use and the insurance company will be receiving the subsidized money from the feds every month for a policy that they will never have to pay out on.
Ain’t Obamacare grand?
