The current fleet of vehicles will eventually be replaced with less polluting, more (I hate this phrase) eco-friendly ones. Instead of imposing yet another tax, just let “nature take it’s course”.
“The move is expected to cost the France hundreds of millions of euros in lost revenue.”
Or to put it another way, “The move is expected to save French citizens and businesses hundreds of millions of euros.”
