COMMON CORE: INDOCTRINATING FOURTH GRADERS ABOUT ‘WHITE PRIVILEGE’
Watchdog Wire ^ | 10/28/2013

Posted on 10/30/2013 5:25:03 PM PDT by Altura Ct.

Kyle Olson of EAGnews, an education reform non-profit based in Muskegon, recently published a video exposing the content of the curriculum that will be used by fourth grade teachers for the Common Core national standards in English. Olson takes issue with the use of a children’s book called “The Jacket.”

Olson explains, “The story centers around a young white boy named Phil who wrongly accuses an African-American student of stealing his brother’s jacket.

This is a fun little book about racism and white privilege – a left-wing concept that teaches students the values of an American society are actually designed to benefit white people.”

The video speaks for itself, especially the presentation by multicultural educator, Dr. Marguerite Parks of the University of Wisconsin. Take a listen.

As you probably heard, the Michigan Senate decreed, by voice vote last week, to authorize adoption of the nationalized standards.

Opponents of Common Core, in the Mitten State, have often expressed concern over the age appropriateness of the content, but it seems like Michigan senators either don’t care or don’t know.

The House votes next. One can assume that those lawmakers who vote “yes” agree that nine-year-olds need to be subjected to junk social science masquerading as literature.

The scumbags opposed common core for appearances then rushed through a vote in favor.

Grades 4 thru 6 are the target grades for the most impressionable indoctrination.

The “white privilege” attack is nothing new. It dates back centuries, in fact. Only then it was called “Christian privilege”. All this rhetoric does is spread hate and guilt. It is another form of punishing success. In Saudi Arabia there is “Muslim Privilege”. In Venezuela there is “Hispanic Privilege”. In Vatican City there is “Catholic Privilege”. What is the point of identifying the obvious?

What would a world without “privilege” look like? A communist gulag.

Is what the Senate passed going to apply to private schools and homeschoolers in Michigan? This is really quite unbelievable how quickly the tyranny spreads.

They’re in the process of rewriting the SAT and ACT to conform to Common Core. So, yes, if you plan on your homeschooled or private schooled children going to college they will have to learn it or suffer low scores.

House Concurrent Resolution 11: Authorize adoption of “Common Core” school standards
Passed by voice vote in the Senate on October 24, 2013, to authorize the State Board of Education and the Michigan Department of Education to spend money to implement “Common Core” curriculum promoted by an entity associated with the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers, subject to various restrictions and conditions specified in the resolution. The authorization does not apply to an associated student testing regime, and directs the state board and the department to make implementation of the standards contingent on local districts retaining the ability to adopt a different curriculum.

Olson explains, “The story centers around a young white boy named Phil who wrongly accuses an African-American student of stealing his brother’s jacket.

If I had any school-age children, I would do my utmost to counter this indoctrination as a condition of allowing it to be pushed onto impressionable children

I would insist on creating a similar children's book centering around a young African-American student named Trayvon accusing a younger "privileged" white student of "disrespecting" him and beating the cracker so severely it causes permanent brain damage.

Followed, of course, by the resulting agonizing discussion of the African-American student being subjected to lifelong poverty, lack of one or both parents, and constant exposure to the neighborhood pathological behavior as described in the book, Uncivil War, (subtitle censored,) by Taleeb Starkes.

My daughter is taking a few local high school courses. She told me last week that there was a segment in English about McCarthyism.

When I filled her in about the Verona Papers she was shocked.

I am way passed all that with my kids but am very worried for the younger parents - going to college these days for most people is a waste of money, so maybe there will be some positive unintended consequences to all of this madness.

I’m going to encourage my young ones to learn several languages and become proficient in them. Along with the lost art of homemaking and how to grow food. We are using A Beka for our curriculum. I have thought about getting some of the common core topic cards to see how different the learning goals are from what we have. I’m sure part of the stickier stuff is HOW they teach those topics.

You mean to tell me that "McCarthyism" was discussed without the eventual revelations?

My daughter went to a private school and when she started 7th grade (1985), there was a class assignment on "Sandinistas," intended at the time, to elicit sympathetic views.

Being very familiar with the entire story, I made sure she understood it and with credible references, she prepared her report critical of the Sandinistas, the Cuban communist influence and Soviet military helicopters, and general repression of the native populace and private enterprise.

She not only received an "A," but her report was kept on file as an example of an excellent and complete class assignment. No, aside from exposure to the "other" site, I played no role in its preparation. I didn't even proof it.

Today? I am not so sure that would happen.

CC, The crazy thing is State Standards mold local School Board & District Standards. Teachers are locked into the content dictated from the top down. Any teacher not following these content standards will not last long. It really is about how our kids see the world they live in and this should be accomplished in the home.

Well let’s see. I was a victim of attempted robbery three times in my life. Each time I fought off the attempt. Each perp was black. Maybe that should be part of the common core.
