As ususal, Jason nails it.
Not many people know that Ike was also an Asia hand, having served several years as MacArthur's Chief of Staff in the Philippines. He had a strong belief that the US should never be drawn into a war on the Asian mainland. He understood the vastness of Asia even in comparison to our resources. If Ike had still been President, we would not have been drawn into the Vietnam War.
Or if his administration had continued, with his veep winning.
Not only would the Vietnam war been avoided, and federal unions, but the whole 1960s era and the Kennedy family dominance of American politics and no LBJ and no 1965 Immigration Act.
Reagan would probably have been president in 1968, and America would still be America, with a lot less population, no multiculturalism and so on.
I’d feel 10,000% better off if he was President today. As for me, Ike will never be the “Just Average” President that the MSM tags him. As far as I am concerned he was one of the Best. I lived through his era.
I agree.
