This is the amazing story of the OEF enduring tribute for our 89 fallen heroes that traveled from sea to shining sea; Vermont to San Mateo and was finally unveiled in the 5th Marine Memorial Park at the journey's end. The OEF Monument, built by "Rock of Ages Corporation" in Graniteville, Vermont, was made possible by the generous outreach of so many "Friends of the Fifth," Adoptive Cities, and Marine Supporters.
Please allow the time to watch this documentary. The 10 day journey of the OEF Monument to San Mateo, home of the 5th Marine Regiment, was delivered by our friend & caring truck driver, Henry Lafreniere, who was escorted from Coast to Coast by our Patriot Guard Riders and the final dedication ceremony that took place on June 6, 2013 in the Memorial Park at Camp Pendleton is absolutely compelling and will bring tears to your eyes.

I must confess, as I was watching all those young Marines, my first, though fleeting thought was "I can't believe some idiots actually wanted to replace those covers."
BTW..do you have any links to close-up pictures of the monument, and/or the list of those names inscribed. I'm pretty sure that the grandson of a friend of mine is on the stone.
I have images but not of that. I did find that information you are looking for here: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-971741
