Chris Matthews On Benghazi: "Where Were The People That Could Have Come?"
Real Clear Politics ^ | Oct. 28, 2013 | Chris Matthews

Posted on 10/29/2013 2:21:11 PM PDT by Republicanprofessor

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me go to Brandon first. I guess this is the question that gets to me. If you're out there pinned down and the word gets back to Washington in real time at the National Security Agency or the national security desk, why didn't we try to send somebody from somewhere? What happened?

BRANDON WEB: Hi, Chris. I think people need to understand this is a situation where as much as the people on the ground working with the State Department in Libya knew that the threat was there and requested the security, the State Department just wasn't prepared to deal with this situation. And by being prepared, you have a list of things that when something goes wrong like this you go down that list and you make certain phone calls and notify certain people. And that just wasn't the case. They had numbers from the DoD that had expired. Then you run into a situation where these agencies, the CIA, the State Department, and the military don't necessarily talk to each other and are in communications as much as you'd think.

MATTHEWS: You know, as an American, that doesn't work for me. The president, the National Security Agency people, are sitting in the White House 24/7, there's officers on deck. They're getting an instantaneous report of what's going on there. What weren't they looking at in terms of assets that could have been sent? Where was the U.S. cavalry, to use an American image? Where were the people that could have come or that tried to get there within however many hours it took to save the lives of the people still living. Where were they and why couldn't they do it? I'm going to ask that question until I get an answer.

As I heard elsewhere, we are getting somewhere if (FINALLY) Chris Matthews (and hopefully other liberals) are asking the questions we have been asking for over a year!

This is a very good.

Benghazi ping. Let me know if you want on or off this list.

I have been quite overwhelmed since the 60 minutes segment on Sunday. That was well done, and the responses to it and other Benghazi-elated articles are now all over the place. I will try to catch up when I get home from work and can ping again. But if you do a search on FR, or generally, for Benghazi, you will see why I am overwhelmed with keeping up with the pings and posts now!!!

PissyChrissy has his head so far up obama’s nether regions for so long he is just now seeing what’s going on.

He’ll be singing that BB King standard soon “The Tingle’s Gone”( with apologies to Mr King for mangling the name of his great blues ballad. )

So, after more than 13 months, Chrissie Matthews is going to ask questions bout Behghazi?

He seems oblivious to the fact that these questions have already been asked, and lies and coverups have been ongoing since 9/12/2012.

We’ll see if he follows up on his long delayed awakening to the issue.

Yep, this is either a plan to kill thighness permanently, or else something VERY BIG is about to be broken... no other reason for the rats to start talking defensively about Benghazi.

I have a theory on how to deal with the mainstream media over the Benghazi matter.

Set up a diplomatic mission in Benghazi again. Provide security for the embassy using local radical malitia groups. Rent out a local hotel to house at least twenty prominent journalists to cover "the new office of mideast affairs". On the ground floor of the hotel, stockpile mortars, RPG's, anti-aircraft stingers, armored personnel carriers, and a few million in cash.

Let the reporting begin!

This is really just VJ diverting attention from Obamacare as best as she can.

Look for some boots on the ground somewhere before that mid-november Obamacare numbers report.

If you read the whole article, Chris Matthews is asking the same questions Sean Hannity would ask. Amazing. Perhaps the dam is starting to break.

Right now, most of them are keeping quiet, Hissy, because they have been threatened by obama and his Thugs.

This could be a Snowden thing.

Was anything new presented in the 60 Minutes piece other than the British guy who provided more corroborating evidence that the dangerous security situation was very well known?

I think a lot of the motivation for this is that they see the blame dodge is about to fail and they want to get a few licks in 14 months late to excuse and remove their culpability in allowing this to go uninvestigated in the first place.

They covered up, conspired, carried the water, deflected and hid the truth and now that the sinking is possible, they don’t want to have the whirlpool of the sinking shut them down.

Wow. I never expected that from Matthews. You don’t normally see someone do a 180 degree turn like this. Maybe a little here, a little there, but not a big change like this. I agree with previous posters, something’s up.
