A woman is safe after escaping from a group of illegal immigrant smugglers who had kidnapped her from outside a hotel in McAllen.
McAllen police arrested 27-year-old Daniella Marie Hinojosa on an aggravated kidnapping charge on Friday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Hinojosa participated in the October 12th kidnapping of a woman outside a hotel on the 1300 block of South 9th Street.
Officers were called to the hotel for a disturbance where they learned a woman had been pulled by the hair and taken by force.
Court records show that the woman was bound and gagged with black tape but managed to escape from a home off 27th Street in Edinburg.
The woman told police that the had to use her spit to loose the black tape and struggled until she was free.
Investigators allegedly identified Hinojosa as one of the suspects.
McAllen police are currently looking for Hinojosa's husband Francisco Javier Muñiz, who is also known as Francisco Javier Torres and la Escalera, for his role in the crime.
Police are also looking for Muñiz's brother Isaac Torres, who is known as El Maranito."
Court records show that Muñiz was involving in a human smuggling operation where 13 illegal immigrants were taken from his custody.
The woman who was kidnapped told police that she believes the group blamed her for what happened.
