Not much point in another law under a regime that doesn’t obey or enforce the laws already on the books.
I used to say we had a pantomime president. Now we have a pantomime congress to match.
on the phones again. no bill to conference with the senate. period.
Great!
Better an open Dem than a fraudulent Repub. These guys are a disgrace.
-- Article One, Section 8, the U.S. Constitution "The Congress shall have Power To...establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization..."
The GOPe is on a suicide run
U.S. Constitution, Article Four, Section. 4."The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion..."
Be afraid, very afraid of what is afoot. The GOP’s corporate paymasters desperately want an increase in guest workers, especially skilled ones. The GOP will trade an amnesty for this increase.

I’m afraid I agree w/ your take on the situation.
Boehner and Cantor are not to be trusted...IMO.
Sure seems that way, doesn’t it.
“comprehensive” = 10,000 pages of legal fluff, paybacks and regulations
I want no part of it.
Me neither.
We have to stop it.
Any votes that Boehner brings up will be piecemeal immigration legislation, not a comprehensive bill.
“If they vote any perks to illegal alien invaders then I will walk away from the republican party entirely and forever”
Pretty much sums it up for me. If the GOP votes to allow 11 million (low estimate) illegals to gain permanent status I am done.
Well that makes two of us!
Yeah? So, what happens when it gets to the conference committee?
Boehner is probably looking out for his Jamaican, dredlock, dope dealing son in law and family.
Heh.
The bill would increase the number of H-1B visas for highly skilled foreign workers, as well as make 55,000 green cards available to foreign graduates of U.S. universities with advanced technical degrees. But to offset making those green cards available, the bill would eliminate the diversity visa and siblings of U.S. citizens. The House bill (or at least, the Issa version) is here.
These bills are Trojan Horses. They will be sent to the Senate and amended to the point that they will be comprehensive bills. Once they are in conference, it is a fait accompli.
Thanks for pointing out the flaw in my thinking...crap.
