Forty years or so ago, I actually worked for the United Methodist Church. Not as a member of the church but as an employee of one of their publishing houses. Not quie, but close to being the lousiest employer I ever worked for.
I soon learned why I could never be a member of that particular church.

I once met a man who was in his eighties at the time, now deceased for several years, who had been a Roman Catholic priest, switched over to being a SOUTHERN BAPTIST minister and then became a Methodist minister, if you can imagine that. He thought he was brilliant but he was one of the most confused individuals I have ever met in my life. He contradicted himself constantly without even realizing it.
