I assume that Putin shared Barry Soetoro’s KGB file with these world leaders.

Things like his high school and college transcripts, Harvard Law Review writings, past friends and associations, medical records, drug use/trafficking, community organizing history, etc.

At the risk of being called an apologist for Barky, eavesdropping on world leaders?? Exactly what’s the problem?? Letting them know we’re doing it...that’s a problem.

“What happens when America is universally viewed as “the bad guy” and the world comes after us like we’re Nazi Germany or fascist Italy? At some point they’re going to get tired of our crap.”

Right on! Obama is trying to engineer a calamity using a variety of methods..

Only 0bummer would leak stories like this to make folks angry at the US; tell me ANY other reason such a story would be in the press? Hmm? Hmmm? Right, that’s right, it is 0bamma because he hates the US and wants to tarnish, destroy, permanently hamper us.

Deutschland: bitte, aufnahmen Sie alle Mitteilungen von Obama. Dann, publizieren Sie das Ganze! Sie werden die Welt retten.

Guess it’s time for another bowing, scraping, “we suck,” apology tour...

I’m glad we tap world leaders, friends or not.

“Friends” is an odd word.

Besides Israel, who would ever help the USA if we got in trouble?

And who could blame Israel for NOT helping the USA these days?

We don’t have ANY friends.

I assume countries all over the world try to tap our phones and email.

Is there some reason we shouldn’t tap their phones?

Will they stop being our “Friends?”

When is anyone ever our friend, unless we give them money, or defend them when they are attacked by a foreign power?

Re: “What happens when America is universally viewed as “the bad guy” and the world comes after us?”

Won’t happen.

The rest of the world won’t do a thing unless some other country volunteers to pay ALL the bills and provide ALL the fighting soldiers.

Hmmm ... The dog that didn't bark?

How amusing it will be if 35 world leaders complain that the U.S. is listening in on their private conversations and ONE world leader doesn't complain.

“Well, yeah, unlike spying on Americans, spying on world leaders probably IS in the NSA’s job description.”

Exactly. I can almost see the rationale behind this. However, I sure as HECK would have made sure that this was code word compartmentalized above top secret and made sure that only about 5 people knew about it! Sure as heck would let some little snitwit like Snowden have found out about it!!!]Sheeesh

Germany thinks hussein is the best thing since sliced bread. I had long given up trying to set some German friends straight but am having a good laugh now.

In this, Snowden is wrong to reveal. It breaches national security. There is nothing about monitoring the phones of foreign leaders that is not to be expected in normal nation-to-nation give and take. I’m sure the Germans are monitoring us, too. Or they’re stupid.

Monitoring regular US citizens is unconstitutional and illegal. Revealing illegality is whistle-blowing and not a violation of national security.

This, on the other hand, injures the US.

Although, to be fair, the Obama administration revealed it was monitoring the phone calls of al Qaeda terrorists and gave names. That was more stupid than this, because those leaders of other nations should be surprised if other nations are NOT trying to tap into their communications in every way possible. Ali us bin Stupid, though, doesn’t know they’ve figured out his number and are monitoring it. Revealing that on Obama’s part was a gift to the bin Stupid family.
