Madison's Notes for the Bill of Rights

Madison used this outline to guide him in delivering his speech introducing the Bill of Rights into the First Congress on June 8, 1789. Madison proposed an amendment to assuage the anxieties of those who feared that religious freedom would be endangered by the unamended Constitution. According to The Congressional Register Madison, on June 8, moved that "the civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretext infringed."

An administration that puts their greedy pursuit of power over principle and jeopardizes a nation’s welfare for a flawed system has invalidated their right to govern. A call for impeachment is imperative.

Obama's War on Women continues. Just where are these women supposed to get their crafts materials from in time for Christmas if the gubmint puts Hobby Lobby out of bidness?

While some courts “recognize the rights of business owners,” he explained, plenty more fail to extend such freedom beyond the individual.

Business owners have all the same rights as the rest of us, be it individually for a sole proprietorship, or collectively for a shareholder-owned corporation. It’s simply untenable to assert that one must “give up” certain rights in order be allowed to do business by the state. Being able to earn a livelihood is, itself, a fundamental, inalienable right. If one tries to make that right, or any right, conditional on forfeiture or another right, it undermines the very definition of rights that the Western legal system has been based on since before this country was founded.

At that point, the only thing between us and naked tyranny would be force of arms and the will to use them.
