If I understood the article correctly, a little over 8% of the gross proceeds goes to breast cancer research (I’ve heard the norm is around 16% due mainly to marketing and administrative costs). But the article also notes the following:

*Still, there are unanswered questions about where the money is going and who is profiting.*

If a certain amount of money (however much they’re talking about) is being spent legitimately, why would the NFL not reveal the details? Curious to say the least.

Thank you for the link.

It could be less than 8% for breast cancer, as it goes to the American Cancer Society. You are assuming that 100% of the amount given will be used for Breast Cancer research -- not other research or not for other administrative charges.

I just don't believe that the American Cancer Society would be good about spending 100% of the donation they receive from the NFL on Breast Cancer Research...

There are some good non-profits to give to, and there are some bad non-profits to give to. I have a low opinion of the American Cancer Society for the reason that it is not run by people from the Medical profession or those with PhD's in areas of Cancer research.
