Marco Rubio: Postponing Obamacare mandate a "prudent approach"
CBS News ^ | October 22, 2013

Sen. Marco Rubio says he will introduce a bill to postpone the Obamacare measure a "prudent approach." On "CBS This Morning," he said, "It's unfair to punish people for not purchasing a product that they can't purchase right now because of the technology that's in place, the web site they're supposed to buy it on -- by the president's own admission -- is not working.

He said all he is calling for is a delay on the requirement until the U.S. General Accounting Office certifies the Web site is working and has been functioning for six consecutive months.

Marco Rubio is a “prudent” republican, a “pragmatic” republican, a “thoughtful” republican, or as Chuck Schumer calls him, “our republican”

Yo, Marco. You want to get back in Conservatives' good graces? Introduce Medical Savings Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Tax Credits for Catastrophic Illness, etc.

How about promoting actual free market solutions instead of delaying Socialized Medicine.

If Castro style health care doesn't work in a tiny nation like Cuber, why the hell should anyone think it will work in a giant country like America?

“Prudent approach”. Whew, somebody calm him down! He’s about to go over the top with the rhetoric!

Did Boehner ever get a CR passed in House that just delays the mandate? Or did that one die because it wasnt pure enough?

That one would look good now.

Now that we have it, postponing stuff just softens the crap and makes it easier to get used to for the mass of the population. But the Boehners are getting desperate to make Obamacare palatable as it presents them with the greatest perceived opportunities for votes and self aggrandizement in the future as every election will be fought over obamacare and the Boehners can make hay promising this group and that group that they can administer it more fairly and get the aggrieved groups a better deal. To keep it in place, though, they have to soften the damage now.

I don’t know where Marco was the last few weeks because the House already proposed this as a “compromise” (read: “capitulation”). That was rejected when Harry Reid and Obama “kept saying no”; as Boner put it.

This is still a terrible idea I don’t know what such proponents are thinking. It gives Mr lazy Voter more time to put off the work of signing up for Obamacare which will make it so this isn’t an issue in 2014! If the sheep in this country don’t experience the sticker shock for themselves at this point, they will never be convinced.

Any talk of delaying the individual mandate is either pure foolishness on the part of the alleged opponents to Obamacare or they are secretly supporting it. There is no other explaination.

A prudent approach would be to switch parties and become a Democrat. Then, perhaps, Marco could become the first Hispanic president.

Let the 0bamaCare fiasco play out as is and hold the Democrats feet to the fire until the next election.

That's the only prudent thing to do now that the (partial) govt shutdown is over.

I can see that however Obama has shown he can do that easily without congress.
So if the GOP had tied that to a CR passed to Senate, Reid ignores it, shutdown ends as we all knew it would, and then Obama is forced to delay it on his own, then Obama would have been on record keeping the government shutdown over an issue he reversed himself on. But that would of required that the issue be brought to the forefront.

Alternatively a delay in just the personal mandate could kill Obamacare by itself, only sick and old people (50 to 65) would join exchanges, others lose their insurance. Exchange policies cost 4X what they used to pay much like NYstates insurance.

Now that 0bamaCare is failing, Rubio rides to the rescue?

Don’t throw 0bama any lifelines.

Let this anchor drown them.

I don’t think we want to do anything to fix Obamacare at this point. Better to let it self immolate in a giant bonfire.
