If Boehner had half a brain he would realize that even if none of this were his fault (almost all of it is though), that for the betterment of his party he needs to take the fall NOW by resigning. If he resigns, many will think to themselves “OK, the numbskull who is responsible for this mess is now gone” and the Republicans will have a better chance of recovering and doing well in 2014.

Take the fall NOW buddy for the good of your party. Too much is at stake.

He couldn’t stand up for Cruz and the tea party for the sake of the country and the GOP, what makes you think he might possibly take the fall for the good of anything or anybody else besides himself?

Boehner is just the symptom of what ails the party. Removing him is the right thing to do, but it won’t fix the GOP. Its already way beyond repair IMO.

Exactly. Boehner must go. And he should take Cantor with him.

You are right—the leaders in the R party including the House leadership should have stepped down after the 2012 election. The party is too weak to win even the easy elections and the leadership is central to that weakness. A strong leadership would have a clear strategy immediately following the 2012 elections that would retain existing support and increase support among other supporters.

But, here we are one year later and the GOP continues to crash into walls, attack one another, and provide support to the opposition party from none other than recent Pres candidate J McCain. You wouldn’t believe it if it wasn’t happening right in front of you.
