Aurora, IL-(ENEWSPF)- As momentum for broad immigration reform continues to build in the evangelical community, leaders from Aurora met Friday morning to pray for immigration reform rooted in the biblical values of welcoming the stranger among us.This morning’s gathering in Aurora was one of more than 400 gatherings and events happening across the country Oct. 12-20. Evangelical Christians are meeting as part of “Pray4Reform: Gathered Together in Jesus’ Name,” a week of prayer that continues the Evangelical Immigration Table‘s ongoing Pray for Reform campaign.

Nationwide, more than 187,000 people have signed onto the effort as prayer partners. With immigration reform next on Congress’ full agenda this fall, evangelical Christians are stressing the urgency of broad, bipartisan reform.

The following quotes can be attributed to participants in Friday’s prayer gathering:

“As Christians, it is our call to advocate before our Lord for our brothers and sisters who are suffering because of the current broken immigration system...Why do we not ever hear these same folks of the evangelical community, talk about how millions of Americans are enduring hardships much greater then illegal aliens. They cannot find jobs. They are on food stamps.Their futures look bleak. Then include what little free money millions of struggling Americans will have has reached the point do we buy health insurance or do buy what little food can to live week to week wait for Obamacare to fine us ?It sure would be nice to see these same folks would take an interest in Americans. The older Americans are being laid off. They cannot find jobs.No one will hire them. Many of these older folks are suffering from severe depression to have their lives and carers in actual fact are over.

Evangelical Leaders Gather to Pray for Immigration Reform

What they need to pray for is closing the borders and rapid deportation.

The only thing that needs to be "reformed" about immigration is; the requirement that the individual has some higher professional skill to add to the mix, such as doctors and engineers.

Yea, I remember that part in the Bible were Jesus says: “break the law” and “let us all pray for more government control”

Praying to their father Satan for more illegals to rape and murder babies. Even Satan twists the scripture for his own purposes.

I assume they will also pray for bank robbery reform, assault reform and reform of all other crimes in general.

And of course each and every one will open their living rooms, bedrooms, refrigerators, vehicles AND WALLETS to host these illegal invaders.

These are not evangelical leaders. They are taking the label and applying it to their political pov.

Pay them enough money under the table, and you can get some “ministers” praying for pedophilia legalization.

I have noticed the immigrant population refer to the U.S. with gratitude, love, and respect*.”

Missing the point. Pray for their salvation. Let God then lead them. If they must return to their home countries, they take God with them and they’ll be fine.

“Evangelical leaders” who don’t know that their first job is to preach Christ, and their second and their third, are neither evangelical nor leaders. Politics can’t save anyone. Without Christ they, like all of us, are lost. With Christ, it doesn’t matter if they stay or go, God has them in hand. He’ll protect and provide for and lead them just as he does any of the rest of us.

If these “evangelicals” don’t know this, then they have lost their calling if they ever had it.

So, for all you bleeding heart Evangelical Christians: if we make 11 to 30 million illegal aliens citizens, does this translate unto TAXPAYERS? Why would they have to pay taxes when the U.S. government is Santa Claus and giving away money and freebies like drugs to addicts?

May I dare say, these so-called "evangelicals" are not Christian in any sense of the word.

A true Christian will uphold the rule of law, as long as it is morally and ethically just, not pray for the people who break it to continue to do so.

The cobwebs of liberalism have so cluttered up the minds of so many people especially our leadership class and that includes religious leaders. All members of the leadership class go to college where most of them are exposed to liberal sophistry, even the religious colleges are taking on a liberal tinge as it seems that the liberal brainwashing has effected the clergy. Liberals put on an air of moral superiority and sophistication, this is a pyschological assault that is difficult for people to resist.

Reminds me of a line from one of Don Francisco's song, "Come Away."

"Clothed in clothes of righteousness, yet carnivorous of souls"
