“With respect for your opinion sir/maam, that is a cop out answer. It is akin to punishing a loyal son in the family because the father has a drinking problem. It is also an insult to our men and women who serve in the military, and have endured back to back deployments in the last many years while Americans watched Bravo TV and went to the mall.”
It’s no cop out its a very real problem I hope none of us live to witness. That military lives and breaths at the mercy of Obama who has more than enough means at his disposal to do what ever unlawful thing he wishes with it.
I too would love to believe men who do heroic things only do them for good & honorable causes, but that is not the reality of the world and even where it is the reality of all the men the Army(which you know its not) there is almost no room in the U.S. military for insubordination to even unlawful & unjust authority.
We have seen such orders followed and even Justified a thousand times in a thousand different ways. The truth is solder are intentionally put into a position & command structure that is designed to make them subordinate to who ever happens to be declared commander.
If a solder refuses he is himself imprisoned and just as quickly replaced, and it doesn’t much matter the rank of that solders is. Generals are canned & replaced as easily as grunts. There is demonstratively no room in the U.S. military for refusing an order even an unlawful one.
So what makes you think we are safe when theses men are commanded by a tyrant determined to impose his will upon us?
The best we can hope for if that day ever comes is that a great majority of them would find ways to resist & resign at the risk of their own life & liberty. But such resistance would absolutely require an organization(government) to which to follow.
I suggest you lock yourself in a room with a pistol and a can of beans, and hope for the best.
“I suggest you lock yourself in a room with a pistol and a can of beans, and hope for the best.”
I don’t believe any form of preparations to mitigate the danger of a standing army could be done form such a location with such utilities.
My suggestion is that we down size the Federal military and up-size the State national guards to take their place. IN reality what I’m proposing is a transfer from Washington to our States so that command is not so centralized.
This is how it was done prior to the end of World War 2, its not exactly crazy to suggest that we go back to that. I would thank you not to imply that it is.
An added bonus of this transfer would put more of our military assets where they could be used more frequently.(Get more bang out of our military buck) as a natural Disaster is far likely to happen in the useful life of this equipment & personnel than a military invasion. Why not be better prepared for both?
I suggest pinto beans and 9 mm.
And when Israel is attacked (and she will be) we call on the Iowa National Guard to bring forth their Resilience Training Instructors. You are out there.
“And when Israel is attacked (and she will be) we call on the Iowa National Guard to bring forth their Resilience Training Instructors. You are out there.”
You greatly underestimate the potential of our National Guard to carry out missions. Really we are talking about most of the same people & equipment as is currently in the Federal Military.
So Yes! The Iowa & Nebraska National guard could carry out a counter attack, just the same people and equipment would were they employed directly in the Federal military.
I’m not going to tell you that the militia system is perfect and without its drawbacks. I’m sure you can find many in a somewhat less professional and decentralized force, but it is precisely those qualities that make that force more loyal to liberty and the freedom of the people.
Such a force demands that Washington act with the consent of the governed and that is a quality we most desperately need now and will much more desperately need in the future, should things continue to get worse.
Are you suggesting that Sen.Ted Cruz conspired with BHO2 to shut down the government?
Most of them are not Chrisitians. They care little for the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible, or what that book says. Even if they say they are following Him, many of them post countless threads defending what Jorge Mario Bergoglio says than what Christ said.
Most Freepers today are not Ronald Reagan Republicans - they could care less what the military has done for them and what it is doing. Their "Support Our Troops!" car magnets have been thrown in the waste basket.
Many of them are rabidly anti-Govenment, except when it comes to their own Social Security and Medicaid - on that they will rip out your eyeballs if defend their entitlements like a crazed drug addict. Because most Freepers are old or aging, this group grows larger by the day.
A few care about Israel, the Bible, and Jesus, but not many.
Nope, pulled from the Democrat playbook to cover for the roll out of the badly botched Obamacare.
I’m not sure how the idea that Ted Cruz had a hand in the advanced planning of the shutdown got mixed in here.
I got overrun, thats what happened, Boehner said.
[scratch that]
“I got the runs, that’s what happened,” Boehner said.
Actually that might not be the case...I believe we are “overrun” with moderates...;-)
No excuse, but the duplicity of Republican primary voters
WY will definitely repudiate Cheney this time.
They used to say Virginia is for Lovers.
Now we can say Ohio is for Losers.
