And especially not as long as grandstanding and fundraising are confused with substantive action.

I’ve long defended Cruz from birther venom, and swore I would vote for him, but now I need to see that he’s interested in more than getting his name in the papers.

What substantive action has been done by the republicans in any recent memory?

Did you mean that Senator Cruz should have done his defense of the Constitution in a way some other Republican (or Democrat) has done it recently?

Is there a particular figure he should be looking to as a role model? that does seem to be your point.
