The main “problem” with boys is that school is BORING.

...also, the entire concept of mandated schooling is designed to rein in boys’ spirit, and to socialize them so as to be acceptable to cohabitate with women in the future...of course, what makes school a prison for boys, the incarceration of their spirit, makes it a haven for the collectivist mentality of females, a celebration of the group...

...that said, a structured upbringing for males is necessary, for otherwise we have what we see in urban settings, youth gone feral and holding the rest of society hostage to their violence...and if the authorities cannot contain them, or more likely, will not, then we go third world into oblivion...

Raising boys is what fathers are for.

Oh. That’s right. We’ve abolished fathers.

Good observations, but I would add that the major civilizing influence on a boy is first, a mother, and second a good woman who will become his wife and lifelong companion when he is sufficiently grown up to appreciate the civilizing influence which she brings to his life.

A father is also a great civilizing influence on a boy, but in a much different way than a mother. A talk which my Dad had with me around puberty was passed on to my daughters at about the same time:

"God gave a young man enough blood circulation to supply either his brain or his dick, but never both at the same time. Until you are with the person you are married to and intend to spend the rest of your life with, quickly get yourself out of any situation where the brain is shutting down before it completely shuts off."

School structure can help but the main structure missing is that of the family. Nothing can replace that and some type of religious instruction. In today's world schools are expected to fulfill all of the roles and functions of the rest of society. They are not equipped to do so nor should they be doing that function.
