Nancy Pelosi says health exchanges need improvement

Pelosi’s message at her weekly news conference was that Democrats acted responsibly and Republicans were “reckless” and living in a “data-free zone.”

Pelosi acknowledged that the site for the new federal health care exchange “has to be improved” but said the problems were technical.

“That’s about the technology,” Pelosi said. “About the benefits, about the liberation of people to life, a healthier life, liberty, the freedom to choose their happiness — that all remains.”

Better yet, scrap the darn thing and actually do something constructive to reduce the cost of “private” insurance.

Pelosi is right. Having the states ratify a required healthcare amendment to the Constitution which would Congress the specific power to regulate healthcare in the first place would be a much needed improvement for the exchanges.
