No proof to give here. Well stated in fact.

I am now in favor of creating a national 3rd party. If folks like Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, Cruze, Lee, Paul, etc. would come together and organize a roll-out of a new party called “Conservatives”. There would be some that could immediately switch parties and a whole host of folks that could run on a new ticket with the right platform and leadership. The GOP would have no influence over candidates. The GOP Brand is toast now and likely for a long time. They no longer stand for anything.

It can’t be called the “Tea Party” however. And we might split tickets for an election cycle or two. But I don’t think we really have anything left to lose. We can’t win the next few election cycles anyway. This would certainly accomplish what you are proposing anyway. Rinos would most certainly be the ones most affected by splitting tickets. They’d be gone one way or another.

At least this way, there is one true conservative party as long as we can put the right leadership in place for it. BUT DON’T LET THE MEDIA ASSOCIATE IT WITH THE TEA PARTY. Let the Tea-Party supporters continue the grass roots efforts as they/we have. They are hard to target and infiltrate as they are now. Don’t screw that up.

That seems a reasonable course of action - and I can well imagine that a shock wave of nuclear proportions would ripple across this nation if well-known conservatives such as Limbaugh, Levin, Palin, etc ... were to announce such plans - and officially cut ties with the GOP. Time will tell how many are willing to do this.

The operative phrase, IMO, at this point in time is RESISTANCE - in whatever non-violent form one can muster ... I would suggest a national tax strike, but my sense is that few have the moral courage take this course, as it means traveling a long and very hard road.

For me, it comes down to whether I desire to experience pain at level 9 or at level 100+

I suppose each individual needs to decide which is more important - their personal possessions and comforts, or the preservation of this nation for their posterity. We should take our cues from those who signed the Declaration of Independence ... IIRC, not one of them escaped unscathed.

Real freedom, not license, requires genuine sacrifice - up to and including an untimely demise at the hands of tyrants.

Why should we think ourselves so privileged as to escape this hardship? Are we better than any previous generation who went before us having to make the same irrevocable choice?
