"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
-- Samuel Adams
This article relies on a faulty premise: that there is any substantive difference between the gop and ‘rat wings of the uniparty.
We will still need win over a plurality of voters. How will we do that if we can’t even convince enough conservatives to become involved in the political process in order to take over the current home of conservatives?
The GOP-E has never been as Liberal as it is now. Not when it attacked Nixon, not when it attacked Goldwater, not when it attacked Reagan. It is so Liberal right now, it is unrecognizable to me. And there is nobody doing more damage to grassroot Conservatism right now than Karl Rove, whose defense of Liberal Republicans and mountains of money he gets in their treasuries has quelled almost every attempt at a grassroots uprising. We win every once in a while, sure, but we lose a lot more than we win. It's getting to the point where we almost can't unseat people in primaries because of the raw money and media power.
It used to be that the GOP-E was Liberal on Social Issues and Conservative on fiscal issues. Now they are very Liberal on Social Issues and Moderate on fiscal issues. They are terrified of the press, the Chamber, and K Street.
I always hated third party talk. Now I'm looking at going that way, myself. This party is going in the wrong direction, and it is irredeemable now. It's lost, for good. We're not going to save it, and we're not going to take it over. The GOP is no longer the solution, it's a drug we take to drown out the Democrats, and we've overdosed.
This cave we knew was coming. Probably had more to do with the EBT card thing on Saturday. Just my opinion. I think that is why Obozo invited the GOP to the WH on Friday.
Obozo probably said, you will see what I will do this weekend.
What is to stop the same people and the same money from corrupting a new party?
The Republican Party is as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle. The only issue in each of these fights is how long it will be before they quit.
They can’t corrupt it if they’re not part of it.
How are you going to keep them out?
We have that mechanism in America's Party, via our affiliations committees. Either leaders stay firmly fixed on core principles, or they are immediately voted off the island.
Sounds promising. How do you keep moles out of the affiliations committees? Has there been a recent uptick in the number of conservatives joining the AP?
It’s been slow but steady for a very long time. Although, with the current set of events in Washington, we have noted an appreciable uptick.
We’re very picky about those we consider for leadership positions. Our people do a better job of vetting potential leaders and candidates than any group of folks I’ve ever seen.
