To get a final bill though both houses without another 60 in Senate the House had to accept the Senate version almost as is, which had this very weak public mandate.
Well someday Dems will make the argument that those avoiding Obama-care and the mandate are free-loading on us ‘taxpayers’, as they did to defend that mandate to get it passed(Obama made that argument).
If they win that argument then Obama-care will be modified to strengthen it.
Right now they don't want to be seen as doing that, but they still want Americans to comply and be scared of it.
You are exactly right. Since when does the IRS NOT eventually get what they say we owe them - one way or another?
They’ll do whatever it takes to get “their” money from us.
