That should go without saying, but of course these people are the hapless “victims” of a computer glitch so that won't happen.

Those that pay taxes are required to follow thousands of arcane rules to provide the funds for these benefits. And if you make a mistake the IRS can take just about everything you own. I suggest we put the takers on the same system as the givers. If don't want people to take advantage of problems like this why reward them with shopping sprees for it? I can tell you what my bank would say if this happened to someone’s debit card.
