far outweighed the operational objective of making the federal website work properly. Come on - we are talking about a gov't project here. Incompetent hackery is a much more likely explanation for the failure of the website than Machiavellian genius.

If the site does eventually get fixed, it will get hacked and mined for personal info.
Even though many of these people probably don’t have a lot of dough, they can still use the info to pose as medical providers and make false claims to insurance companies.

Posted earlier -- the kind of 'thinking' evident in the title would be referred to as
schizotypal in psychiatric circles.
There is nothing wrong with evaluating the applicant's income to determine what level of subsidy they're eligible for and then displaying the net actual cost. To do anything else would be misleading.
