The perfect animation to illustrate the frustration of trying to navigate healthcare.gov.
BUMP!!!
I fully anticipate being exactly in that same situation. I pray that you can get something acceptable worked out. I pray we can too.
So, what happens when some of these opting-out youths actually have medical emergencies, car wrecks, surgeries etc. and have no medical coverage? When they start receiving hospital bills for ICU, OR, and acute care.....say $130,000 just to pick a number....will we hear screaming then?? I suppose the taxpayers will have to pick up these expenses too....
Any word on the amount of premium increase?
Not yet, currently playing phone tag.
I just opened up Fridays’s mail. There is a Horizon BC&BS Rate notification.
Current monthly premium for one employee is $651.45 a month
Will Be effective December 1st $925.67 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU OBAMA AND the FN DEMOCRATS!!!
Sorry to hear it. That's a massive increase - $3300 per employee per year. Do you have the option, legally-speaking, of handing your employees off to the exchanges? The reason Home Depot and other big employers are dropping coverage for part-timers is because Obamacare provides cheaper coverage (obviously for Home Depot, which doesn't have to subsidize coverage anymore, but also for the employees, who pay lower premiums) via massive* federal subsidies.
* My swag is that the worst case is an annual increase to the budget deficit of $100b.
Still waiting to hear from my agent. My hubby wants to hand her off to the exchange.
She voted for Obama, the commie can handle her insurance.:)
Plenty of people figure someone else will pay for it. I have to wonder how many Obama-supporting Democratic, independent and Republican business owners are opening their mail now and getting sticker shock. In fact, I wonder if they're making the logical connection to the start of Obamacare as the cause of these premium hikes.
