Old equals rich. Oh, please let it be so.
Cathy better get a second job cause I'm gonna need her tax loot when I retire.
actually who this REALLY subsidizes is sodomites who couldn’t keep themselves from packing fudge and got AIDS, who couldn’t get insurance after contracting it because it was considered a pre-existing condition.
In all fairness, “freeloading” is the only profession available to most young people today.
Kathy sounds like a class warfare lib.
When I first bought health insurance after leaving college in the mid-70’s, my premiums were $35/mo. Now they’re over $600.
That was long before this travesty was instituted our government.

Actually she is a gun-toing conservative.
a niece sent a “post” that her hc insurance premium went up 300% - she had a policy and has some “conditions” so what’s the truth, are they better off or just another victim of GOOD government. Maybe McLame can help with that answer...LOL
Sorry Katie is.
“In all fairness, freeloading is the only profession available to most young people today.”
One problem this will run into is that while young people apparently are willing to concede families and homes due to economics, they’re not going to give up new cars and tattoos. There is little incentive for young people (fortunate enough to have jobs) to give away more of their income to this “tax”, and the Dems risk a lot by forcing the issue. They are a self-centered generation (hence foregoing a next generation), but if it becomes too obvious that someone else has their hands in their paychecks their general apathy will quickly disappear.
The income tax was a way for the Democrats to take a piece of the working man’s WAGES. Obamacare is a way for the Democrats to take a piece of the working man’s/woman’s BENEFITS.
Katie is just the exact opposite in fact. Katie goes to The Late Jeff Coopers Gunsite in Paulden, AZ to sharpen her skills with her own AR-15 and the 250 Pistol course as well. No self respecting LIB would be caught dead there. She is also the editor of Townhall Magazine.
The whole program was predicated on the false belief that loads of healthy people would sign up for Obamacare and their funds would offset the sickly. Too many waivers, exceptions, exemptions and high costs have made this totally unattractive. The only people who are signing up for Obamacare are people who are young and have premedical conditions. If there is any doubt take a look at California and those who are signing up for it.
This thing will implode on itself ruining the states’ budgets or the government is going to force everyone into it. The fight is only beginning.
Neither is this old fart.
I will leave this rock before I do anything anyone from Washington says I must do.
These young people are not freeloaders, they are people whom are making a rational risk-benefit analysis on how to allocate their resources most effectively to start and build their lives.
When I was their age I had catastrophic care coverage with a large deductible (which I always kept in the bank for emergency contingency) so if I was in an accident or got cancer, I was covered up to a million bucks for first class, outstanding care without the risk of financial devastation to myself or without the need to pass my medical costs onto the public via the welfare system.
It cost me like $15 per month.
Other than that I never even visited a doctor for 20 years , nor did I need to.
I paid for two dental visits per year out of pocket.
Instead I used the money to pay for a car and house to start a life and build equity.
The same coverage, or worse coverage, being pushed onto young people today in ObamaCare will cost them $3000-$5000 per year, which is going to consume all of their precious discretionary income that should be used by them to start a life and build equity in there lives the same way all the rest of us did to realize the American Dream.
All to pay for the societal costs of the medical problems our failed Social Welfare Policies have loaded onto the backs of our children.
To the young people of America, I apologize for the actions of the older generation who's selfish and self righteous actions have destroyed the same path to the American Dream that our Parents bequeathed to US.
To our Eternal Shame , the legacy we leave to our children is one poverty in both spirit and physical wealth in much less free country than we enjoyed.
If only there was a way that only those who voted for Obama would be forced to sign up for it and the rest of us would be exempt. Sounds like true “fairness” to me.
I live in CT. To get a ObamaCare quote, you don’t need to give up you name, DOB, etc. All you need is gender, age and county you live in. The “cheapest” plan for me according to ObamaCare is the “catastrophic coverage” option. It costs approx. 300/month with a $6,350 deductible.
No wonder young people aren’t signing up. You will spend almost $10K before you are “covered.”
no problem says obama and bernanke. we’ll get them on the flip side by adding a few more zeros in our spreadsheet.
Years ago, I worked for a company for three months in the summer and didn't know they had a retirement plan - I was never told that since I was only going to be there three months. We did our taxes the next year and I did an IRA contribution/deduction as usual. The IRS sent a nasty letter that I couldn't deduct an IRA contribution because I worked for a company that had a retirement plan. They threatened to take the extra taxes out of our bank account. My husband sent the tax amount and told them they had better not touch our bank account. They absolutely can do it.
When you openly teach, encouraged, and convince people to get into freeloading, it kind of catches on with other folks, too. What a surprise!
Now that they need people to NOT be freeloaders so they can take care of the professional freeloaders, it’s tough to find “clean” young people who actually have jobs! Too bad, barack, huh?
